The Emerging exhibition at Chris White Gallery brought together a diverse group of artists, each with their own unique backgrounds and artistic styles.
This group exhibition highlighted fresh ideas and exciting talent from up-and-coming artists who are redefining the boundaries of contemporary art.
The common theme that unites the work of all the artists is the exploration of identity, transformation, and self-expression.
Each artist delves into how personal experiences, growth, and external influences shape their sense of self and creative vision. Their works explore change, self-reflection, and empowerment, using art to express complex emotions and challenge societal norms.
The exhibition reflected the energy and promise of the next generation of artists who are reshaping the art world in real time.
These emerging voices offer new perspectives and invite viewers to engage with art as it unfolds, witnessing the creative journeys of these artists as they grow and evolve. Emerging is a celebration of the endless possibilities within art, proving that the future is always being created in the present.
Curator Statement:
My vision for this exhibition was to shine a spotlight on emerging artists and provide them with the visibility they truly deserve. My approach to curating began with a focus on each individual artist, prioritizing their unique voice and work. Initially, I did not set out with a specific theme for the exhibition; instead, my goal was simply to highlight these talented creators. As the works started to come in, I began to identify common threads and themes that naturally emerged, bringing the exhibition into focus.
This show feels exciting and fresh to me, and I hope that you, too, can connect with this diverse range of art and the incredible artists behind it. A heartfelt congratulations to all the artists involved — keep creating, and thank you for being a part of this journey.

Coffee Hour and Artists’ Tour
On the spur of the moment, the artists present at the gallery on Sunday, April 27 agreed to talk about their work. Sixty people or so attended the Coffee Hour at the gallery and enjoyed salad, shrimp, baked goods, and Woodside Creamery ice cream. Then the artists, one by one, introduced themselves and described the genesis of their artwork.
