This is the first of 15 fund-raising posts in the summer of 2024.
Today we feature artist Cony Madariaga.
Cony Madariaga’s artwork has appeared frequently in group shows at the Chris White Gallery and, in 2023, she curated a group show of her own, Extranjera/o — No soy de aqui y no soy de alla. (I’m not from here, I’m not from there.), an exhibit featuring 22 Latin-X artists and creatives. So far, that has been our best-selling show since 2020. Click here to visit her website.
Why does Cony encourage you to donate?
The Chris White Gallery has been an important part of my artistic journey. It was where I participated in my first exhibition, and I will always remember the joy I felt being part of the creative community during that time.”

Our Goal = $8,400.
$8,400 is how much the gallery will spend in the coming year to mount six art exhibitions in downtown Wilmington, Delaware. Your donation will cover the cost of professional installation, exhibit lettering, take-away cards, event insurance, and publicity with enough left over to give small stipends to curators and exhibit coordinators. Our expenses are low because volunteers do most of the work and the Shipley Lofts apartment building covers our rent and utilities. As a result, Wilmington’s diverse and talented artists have a handsome brightly-lit place to put their work on display. Your donation is all we need to make it happen.
