This is the 8th of 15 fundraising posts for our gallery in the summer of 2024.
Today we feature artist and curator Danny Schweers.
The photographs of Danny Schweers have appeared in three group shows at the Chris White Gallery over the years. He is past president of the Texas Photographic Society and the Brandywine Photo Collective, and has taught photography at the Delaware Art Museum for fourteen years. Click here to visit his website.
Why does Danny encourage you to donate?
I am inspired by Chris White’s vision for Shipley Lofts and continue his efforts to make this five-story building a place that offers affordable housing to artists and a handsome art gallery to the community. As Chair of the Gallery Committee, I work with other volunteers to make the gallery a place for artists to meet and have their work seen. I like it best when the gallery is full of happy conversation.”

Checks made out to “Chris White CDC” may be mailed to

Our Goal = $8,400.
$2,690 was donated as of July 21, 2024.
$8,400 is how much the gallery will spend in the coming year to mount six art exhibitions in downtown Wilmington, Delaware. Your donation will cover the cost of professional installation, exhibit lettering, take-away cards, event insurance, and publicity with enough left over to give small stipends to curators and exhibit coordinators. Our expenses are low because volunteers do most of the work and the Shipley Lofts apartment building covers our rent and utilities. As a result, Wilmington’s talented artists have a handsome brightly-lit place to put their work on display. Your donation is all we need to make it happen.
