This is the 14th of 15 fundraising posts for our gallery in the summer of 2024.
Today we feature KO Simms.
KO’s paintings were featured in a solo retrospective in the summer of 2023. Simms paints with a palette knife. He scrapes the paint into place. “If you can spread peanut butter on a piece of bread, you can do what I am doing,” says the artist, being too modest. To see KO’s website, click here.
Why does KO encourage you to support our non-profit?
The Chris White Gallery is very important for the community and its artists as a melting pot for cultural understanding and engagement. Meeting new people was so fun as they shared their comments about my works on opening night! Most got the visions I painted for words of expression from the viewer. Great opportunities for all!!!!”

Our Goal = $8,400.
$3,201.32 was donated as of July 26, 2024.
$8,400 is how much the gallery will spend in the coming year to mount six art exhibitions in downtown Wilmington, Delaware. Your donation will cover the cost of professional installation, exhibit lettering, take-away cards, event insurance, and publicity with enough left over to give small stipends to curators and exhibit coordinators. Our expenses are low because volunteers do most of the work and the Shipley Lofts apartment building covers our rent and utilities. As a result, Wilmington’s talented artists have a handsome brightly-lit place to put their work on display. Your donation is all we need to make it happen.
