This is the 9th of 15 fundraising posts for our gallery in the summer of 2024.
Today we feature artist and social advocate Michael Kalmbach.
Michael Kalmbach is a name closely connected with the Creative Vision Factory. In addition to being an inspiring speaker and effective advocate for the marginalized, Michael is also an accomplished artist, with solo exhibits at the Chris White Gallery in 2018 and 2022, plus work in many group shows. From 2013-2016, he was the Board Chair of our non-profit organization. Click here to see his 2022 solo exhibit, “Statecraft.” In the photo above, Michael is in the green T-shirt.
Why does Michael encourage you to donate?
I’m very proud of the legacy of Chris White Gallery and Shipley Lofts–the community this space has built and nurtured over the past decade is undeniable. Your contribution maintains a critical piece of supportive infrastructure for artists across our region. In the absence of Creative Vision Factory and the Delaware College of Art & Design, the success and longevity of Chris White Gallery is all the more urgent. Thank you for your support!”

Our Goal = $8,400.
$2,690 was donated as of July 21, 2024.
$8,400 is how much the gallery will spend in the coming year to mount six art exhibitions in downtown Wilmington, Delaware. Your donation will cover the cost of professional installation, exhibit lettering, take-away cards, event insurance, and publicity with enough left over to give small stipends to curators and exhibit coordinators. Our expenses are low because volunteers do most of the work and the Shipley Lofts apartment building covers our rent and utilities. As a result, Wilmington’s talented artists have a handsome brightly-lit place to put their work on display. Your donation is all we need to make it happen.
