JUROR’S STATEMENT: “The works of art included in the Chris White Gallery’s November 2017 Regional Juried Exhibition represent the range in style, subject matter, and media seen in the submissions I reviewed. When making these selections, I strove to identify works of the highest quality in regards to both form and content. Similarly, I paid equal attention to all the various media I found represented — drawing, painting, sculpture, and photography. The included artwork explores the figure, the built and natural environment, materiality, and abstraction, and as such, is representative of the myriad styles and themes occupying the collective conscious. The aim of the resulting exhibition is to showcase the diverse contemporary art practices found in the region — Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC — today.”
