Exhibition Statement
Nuestras Historias is a group exhibition that celebrates the voices of Hispanic Heritage and honors the stories that shape our identities. Through various artistic mediums, this exhibition highlights personal narratives rooted in our ancestors, beliefs, hardships, joys, and cultural traditions.
The show features artwork from 27 Hispanic artists from Delaware and the surrounding states. These artists come from many different backgrounds and countries, yet within their diverse works, you will find a shared familiarity that unites us as humankind.
Behind each artwork lies a story: of resilience, of belonging, of laughter and tears. Together, these stories reflect both individual journeys and our collective memory. We invite you to step into these narratives, connect with the voices of our community, and celebrate Hispanic Heritage with us.
Curator Statement
As an immigrant child with the privilege to live out my dreams on my own terms, I owe endless thanks to my parents for their sacrifice—for giving up their dreams so that I could pursue mine.
This is the second exhibition I have curated in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month; the first, Extranjero/a, No Soy de Aquí, No Soy de Allá, took place in 2023. Since then, I have learned that one of my greatest joys comes from creating and opening spaces for other artists. Everyone has a story, and being a small part of that storytelling is something I will forever cherish.
Nuestras Historias (Our Stories) is inspired by the narratives that shape us: the reasons we create, the dreams that keep us awake, the fears that weigh on us, and the sacrifices our families have endured when leaving their home countries to build new lives. Whether born in the United States or arriving here through immigration, the stories we carry are powerful. I am grateful to serve as curator for this exhibition and to honor these voices through art.

There was a Call for Entries.
The curator, Cony Madariaga, looked for art from area artists to include in our exhibit “Nuestras Historias”. This is the second of our Hispanic Heritage Month Biennials. Deadline for submissions was July 15, 2025. Click here to learn more.
The Call
We invite you to submit artwork for Nuestras Historias, a group exhibition honoring the rich diversity, resilience, and creativity within the Latinx community. This show is dedicated to celebrating the personal narratives, cultural identities, and lived experiences of Latinx artists through visual art. Whether your work speaks to heritage, migration, joy, resistance, everyday life—or anything in between—we want to see it. All mediums and styles are welcome.
