This is the 10th of 15 fundraising posts for our gallery in the summer of 2024.
Today we feature artist Oscar Eduardo De Paz.
Oscar was featured in our 2023 exhibit Extranjera/o — No soy de aqui y no soy de alla. (I’m not from here, I’m not from there.), an exhibit curated by Cony Madariaga featuring 22 Latin-X artists and creatives. This painting was purchased by a Wilmington hospital. Why does Oscar encourage you to support our non-profit?
The Chris White Gallery is a gem in Wilmington’s art scene. It is a space where the pulse of Wilmington’s art scene is vividly on display. My three sons and I have seen the talent and vibrancy of Wilmington’s local artists every time we visit. We’ve had the chance to experience the phenomenal work of a local legend, Edward Loper, Jr. In addition, we’ve learned about emerging artists just cutting their teeth. Indeed, it offered me just such an opportunity. The Chris White Gallery is a place of beauty, community, and opportunity.”

Our Goal = $8,400.
$2,765 was donated as of July 22, 2024.
$8,400 is how much the gallery will spend in the coming year to mount six art exhibitions in downtown Wilmington, Delaware. Your donation will cover the cost of professional installation, exhibit lettering, take-away cards, event insurance, and publicity with enough left over to give small stipends to curators and exhibit coordinators. Our expenses are low because volunteers do most of the work and the Shipley Lofts apartment building covers our rent and utilities. As a result, Wilmington’s talented artists have a handsome brightly-lit place to put their work on display. Your donation is all we need to make it happen.
