In addition to hosting new exhibitions in its gallery every two months, the Chris White Community Development Corporation (CWCDC) also hosts events such as community creation nights, poetry readings, artist talks, and small concerts.
Unlike rentals of the gallery, gallery-sponsored public events cost event-organizers nothing. Also, gallery-sponsored events are publicized by the gallery, including eBlasts to the one-thousand email addresses on our mailing list. Contact us if you want to make a public event proposal.
Approval Process for Gallery-Sponsored Events
- Event organizer proposes an event. The organizer should have already checked the CWCDC calendar to make sure no event is already scheduled for the day they want. Proposals should be revenue neutral and include volunteers who will make the event happen. The CWCDC is a non-profit organization with few funds at its disposal and volunteers who are already busy. In general, we can provide neither funds nor volunteers for events.
- After the proposal is received, the Chris White Gallery Committee at its next meeting will decide whether to approve the event or not. Part of that approval process is to name someone from the CWCDC board or the Gallery Committee who will attend the event as an event supervisor, representing the CWCDC.
- Because the Chris White CDC can host so few events, we encourage you to consider renting our gallery space for your event.
Volunteers make events and exhibits possible.
