Artist Nathan Blevins showed his paintings and talked about them at a coffee hour on Sunday, November 20, 2022. That happened after we enjoyed coffee, snacks, and conversation. The occasion was also a chance to enjoy the paintings of another artist, JaQuanne LeRoy, who was the current featured artist in the gallery.
A factory manager, Blevins takes thick durable corrugated industrial paper and then uses paint to reveal the underlying patterns. To those he adds other patterns which evoke the base layer’s mechanical origin. And, over those machine modulations, he often superimposes shapes and forms borrowed from nature.
